Biztricks for interiors

A wardrobe is not one unit. It is six by two by seven.

Modular interiors is priced by measurement, and every other quoting tool asks you for a quantity. Biztricks asks for the dimensions, groups the quote by room, and puts a document in front of your customer that shows what each room costs.

Priced the way you survey

Wardrobes and lofts by cubic feet, kitchen runs by running feet, ceilings and painting by square feet, points by the piece. Four measurement modes, and every seeded item is already on the right one.

A quote your customer can read

Grouped by room with a subtotal on each, so "what is the kitchen costing me?" is answered in the document rather than on the phone three days later.

Builder rates that hold

Record what you agreed with a developer once. Every flat they refer quotes at those rates, whoever in your firm raises it, on the fortieth job as much as the first.

Day one

Your item list, already written

Pick interior and modular fit-out at signup and these 8 items are waiting for you, each with its measurement mode, its unit, GST and an HSN or SAC code. The rates are starting points — change them on the first morning.

Your quotes will group lines by room, and the first one is usually Kitchen. That word appears on the builder screen and on the document your customer reads.

The payment schedule your trade actually works to

Every proposal carries a staged plan, and it starts as the one below. Putting an interiors firm's four-stage schedule on a materials invoice would be wrong on its face, so Biztricks sets it per trade rather than once for everybody.

Default terms: 50% advance to confirm, 40% on material delivery, 10% on handover. Quote valid 15 days.

Why interiors is the trade this was built around

Because the arithmetic is where the money leaks. A wardrobe measured at seven feet and quoted at six is a loss nobody notices until handover, and a rate agreed with a builder in January is a rate nobody remembers in July.

The reference workspace Biztricks was designed against is a modular interiors firm doing residential flats and small commercial fit-outs — kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, false ceiling, painting, and the electrical and plumbing points that go with them. The room presets cover flats, individual houses, offices, commercial units and PGs, because a firm that does one of those this month does another next month.

The parts of a job it holds

  • The enquiry, from the WhatsApp message it arrived in, through to won or lost
  • The site — a client can have several, and a quote knows which one it is for
  • The measured, room-grouped quotation, and every lettered revision of it
  • The proposal your customer accepts, with your materials specification in it
  • The tax invoice, the staged payments against it, and what is still outstanding

What it does not hold is a 3D model, a cutting list or a purchase order. Biztricks prices and bills the job; it does not run the workshop.

Questions

Questions from interiors firms

Can I quote a kitchen and a wardrobe on the same document?

Yes — one quote, as many rooms as the job has. Each room carries its own lines and its own subtotal, and each line uses whatever measurement mode its item needs. A running-feet kitchen unit and a cubic-feet wardrobe sit on the same document without anything being converted by hand.

What if the customer changes the specification after I have sent the quote?

Duplicate it — you get the next revision, not a new quote number. Q-2627-0007A becomes Q-2627-0007B, the job keeps one identity, and your register counts jobs rather than conversations. Your customer can tell at a glance which version they are looking at.

Does it handle the 5 / 50 / 40 / 5 payment structure?

Yes — it is the default schedule for this trade, not something you build. 5% on booking with the semi-3D drawing, 50% on approval and contract signature, 40% after the on-site structure and carcase work, and 5% after final work with measurement. Every stage is editable per job, and the percentages have to add to 100 before the document will print them.

Can my site supervisor use it without seeing my rates?

Yes — the item list is not on by default for staff. A new team member starts with leads, clients and quotes: the pipeline, not the money. You hand out the item list, invoices and reports one person at a time. Cost prices and margins can also be blurred on screen, so a customer looking over a shoulder on site does not read them.
