Biztricks for services
Sell the phase, and put the scope in writing.
Design and supervision work is not a product with a quantity — it is a phase with a boundary, and the argument is always about where that boundary was. Biztricks quotes by phase and sends a proposal that says what is included, what is not, and what a revision costs.
Quoted as phases
Design, drawings, supervision, maintenance. Each phase is a group on the quote with its own subtotal, so a client can approve the design stage without committing to the rest.
Scope, stated before the work
The proposal carries an introduction and terms in your words. The seeded ones already say that revisions beyond the agreed scope are billed separately — because that is the conversation nobody wants to have afterwards.
SAC, not HSN
Services carry a SAC code: 9983 for consultancy and design, 9954 for site supervision, 9987 for maintenance. Seeded on the items and printed on the tax invoice.
Day one
Your item list, already written
Pick design and site services at signup and these 4 items are waiting for you, each with its measurement mode, its unit, GST and an HSN or SAC code. The rates are starting points — change them on the first morning.
Your quotes will group lines by phase, and the first one is usually Design. That word appears on the builder screen and on the document your customer reads.
| Item | Measured by | Rate | HSN |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consultation Visit | unit | ₹1,500/visit | 9983 |
| Design & Drawings | unit | ₹5,000/job | 9983 |
| Site Supervision (per day) | unit | ₹2,500/day | 9954 |
| Annual Maintenance (AMC) | unit | ₹12,000/year | 9987 |
On the document
The payment schedule your trade actually works to
Every proposal carries a staged plan, and it starts as the one below. Putting an interiors firm's four-stage schedule on a materials invoice would be wrong on its face, so Biztricks sets it per trade rather than once for everybody.
Default terms: 50% advance to schedule, balance on completion. Quote valid 30 days. Revisions beyond agreed scope are billed separately.
Payment schedule
| Advance to schedule the work | 50% |
| On completion and sign-off | 50% |
| Total | 100% |
The boundary is the product
For a services firm, the document is not paperwork that follows the sale — it is the sale. What was agreed, how many revisions, what happens when the site changes: that is the whole commercial position, and it is worth more than the rate.
Which is why Biztricks does not treat a quotation as a table with a total under it. A proposal has an introduction, an about-us and a terms section, all of them prose you write once and reuse. A workspace on this pack arrives with real starter text saying what is included, what is not and who carries which risk — the part a firm never quite gets round to writing for itself.
Retainers and repeat work
An annual maintenance contract is a line like any other: quoted per year, invoiced when it is due, paid against. Biztricks will not raise next year's invoice for you — there is no recurring billing for your customers, only for your own Biztricks subscription — but last year's is right there to duplicate, with the scope and terms intact.
Site supervision billed by the day works the same way: a unit-mode item at a day rate, the count entered when you invoice. Nothing about it needs a timesheet system, and Biztricks does not pretend to be one.
Questions
Questions from services firms
Can I quote a design stage separately from execution?
Yes — that is what grouping by phase is for. Each phase carries its own subtotal on the proposal, so a client can approve design and drawings now and decide about supervision later. If they only take the first phase, you invoice the first phase.
How do I charge for revisions beyond the agreed scope?
As lines on a revised quote, or on their own invoice. The seeded terms for this pack already say that revisions beyond the agreed scope are billed separately, so the position was stated before the work started rather than invented afterwards. Duplicating the quote gives you the next revision letter, and the customer can see exactly what changed.
Does Biztricks bill my AMC automatically each year?
No — there is no recurring or automatic billing of your customers. Biztricks bills your own subscription monthly or annually, but it will not raise your customer's AMC invoice on a schedule. When it falls due you duplicate last year's, with the scope and terms already in it.
Is there time tracking or timesheets?
No. Biztricks has no time tracking of any kind. A day rate is a unit-mode item and you enter the number of days when you invoice. If you need utilisation, billable hours or a stopwatch, this is not the tool — and it is better to know that now.
